The purpose of this Web site is to keep the Garden City community updated on the progress of the development of the comprehensive plan. This Web site contains five main pages: the News page contains recent updates and announcements, the Documents page contains project documents, presentations, graphics, and images, the Team page identifies key members of the consulting team and city staff, and the Status page contains progress reports and highlights upcoming milestones and deliverables. Thank you for taking the time to participate in this planning effort. The results of the surveys, as well as a draft comprehensive plan, will be available soon. | What is a Comprehensive Plan? |
Also known as the Master or General Plan, the Comprehensive Plan establishes a vision for future growth. The Comprehensive Plan is a document that identifies goals, objectives, guidelines, policies, and strategies for growth and development of Garden City. The Comprehensive Plan is a general, forward-looking growth plan for the city of Garden City. It includes several main sections: demographics, infrastructure, transportation, housing, public facilities, and future land use. The Comprehensive Plan is primarily concerned with the placement and allocation of future land use. Future land use is a guideline for future development.
